Most churches and many preachers are using the Bible, the gospel of Jesus Christ and even the gifts of the Holy Spirit for personal gain, while deceiving, exploiting and robbing believers. People are lured to churches using the gospel of Jesus Christ with the promise of eternal life for all who believe. Bible scriptures are used to convince them to believe that they will have eternal life if they confess to believe in Jesus. Bible scripture is also used to compel believers to submit to, serve and financially support the church or the ministry. Some receive and exercise spiritual gifts of healing, miracles and deliverance, casting out of demons in the name of Jesus. Those manifestations are used to attract people and increase church membership, which translates into increased revenue for the church and it’s operators.
Many people are deceived by the operation of these churches and believe that they are indeed fulfilling the will of God. The real indicator of the presence and approval of God lies in the fruit. Without holiness, no one will see the Lord. Modern day churches are known for tolerance, prosperity, inclusivity, not for holiness, repentance and obedience to Jesus. Jesus said: “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22“Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ 23“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’ Matthew 7:21-23.
There are many churches in the world today, many mega churches, impressive ministries with millions of members and supporters, but their fruit is rotten. There is no holiness. They have no impact on the world. They are worldly, sinful, filled with sinners, homosexuals, fornicators, adulterers, liars, cheaters, warmongers, robbers, pedophiles, lovers of money and pleasure. That is not the church of Jesus Christ, His bride. They have no part in His kingdom. They profess to know Him and believe in Him, but He will deny and reject them, because He does not know them.
Do we know and follow Jesus, and does He know us?
