FOOLISH EXPECTATIONS

Many Christian believers are foolish in
their expectations. They are not willing to pay the price, but they
expect to enter heaven and have eternal life, when they die. They are
not willing to follow Jesus but they expect to find the narrow door
into heaven.
You cannot buy or earn salvation, neither can
anybody else work out your salvation for you. Others can pray for you
and encourage you but you have to walk your own walk with
Jesus.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.  He
paid the price for the redemption of the world and He will decide who
will go into heaven and who not. Jesus clearly explained the
conditions for eternal life. His words and commandments are recorded
in Matthew,  Mark, Luke and John. Those are the words of eternal
life. Those who disregard and disobey them will not have
LIFE.
Jesus promised eternal life to those who believe
in Him AND therefore follow and obey Him.
Your relationship
with Jesus is just like every other thing in life. If you do not
invest in it, do not expect to get anything out.
Many Christians
are not willing to do or give anything for Jesus and His kingdom.
They will be terribly disappointed when they die. They will learn too
late that they were deceived by satan and the false prophets, to
disobey Jesus and not to work on their relationship with Jesus,
not to work for His kingdom.
Many Christians work for their
churches, some even build churches. Others preach and evangelize,
even perform miracles in the name of Jesus,  but they have no
relationship with Him. Neither are they working for Him or His
kingdom. They are working for themselves and their own glory. Many
are famous preachers and church leaders.  They expect to receive
great rewards, crowns and accolades in heaven, but they have foolish
expectations.  Jesus warned: “Not everyone who says to Me,
‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does
the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. 22“Many will say
to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name,
and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many
miracles?’ 23“And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew
you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’ Matthew
7:21-23.
What is our expectation? How much are we investing in our
relationship with Jesus? Are we living and working for Him and His
kingdom? What can we reasonably expect to receive?  As a man
sows, so shall he reap.
Are we seeking the kingdom of God
and sowing our time, our resources,  our work, effort, even our
life, into the kingdom of God?
May Jesus bless you.
