GOD'S HOUSE

Many wrongly refer to church buildings
as the house of God. We read in Acts 7:48-50 “the Most High does
not dwell in houses made by human hands; as the
prophet says:‘HEAVEN IS MY THRONE, AND EARTH IS THE FOOTSTOOL
OF MY FEET; WHAT KIND OF HOUSE WILL YOU BUILD FOR ME?’
says the Lord, ‘OR WHAT PLACE IS THERE FOR MY REPOSE? 50‘WAS
IT NOT MY HAND WHICH MADE ALL THESE THINGS?’
Where then is the HOUSE OF GOD? We read
in Hebrews 3:6 “But Christ is faithful as the
Son over God’s house. And we are His house, if we
hold firmly to our confidence and the hope of
which we boast.”
Those who are born again, children of
God, they are His house. The apostle Paul wrote in 1 Corinthians
3:16,17 “ 16Do you not know that you are a temple of God
and that the Spirit of God dwells in you? 17If any man
destroys the temple of God, God will destroy him, for the temple of
God is holy, and that is what you are.”
The apostle Paul also further wrote in
1 Corinthians 6:15-20 “Do you not know that your bodies are members
of Christ? Shall I then take away the members of Christ and make them
members of a prostitute? May it never be! 16Or do you not know
that the one who joins himself to a prostitute is one body with
her? For He says, “THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH.” 17But
the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with
Him. 18Flee immorality. Every other sin that a man
commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own
body. 19Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the
Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are
not your own? 20For you have been bought with a price: therefore
glorify God in your body.”
We are the house of God, if we have
invited Jesus into our lives and accepted Him as Lord. We must keep
His temple clean and holy, free from sin and immorality, dedicated
unto Him, reserved for His purpose. We must take heed tot the
warning:”If any man destroys the temple of God, God will destroy
him, for the temple of God is holy, and that is what you are.” 1
Corinthians 3:17.
Are we worthy of Jesus? Are we keeping
His temple pure and holy?
May Jesus bless you.
