JESUS WANTS TO TEACH YOU UNDERSTANDING

Knowledge is not understanding. Many people have knowledge of God from reading the Bible but they do not have understanding of the will of God, because their knowledge is purely theoretical. Their knowledge is academical because they have not learned from practical experience. You cannot learn the ways of Jesus and understand what it means to follow Him, if you do not obey His words and act on them.

I was a pilot. You first go to ground school to learn the theory of flight. Having that knowledge does not qualify you to fly an aircraft. You have to start flying with an instructor in an aircraft with dual controls, so that you can get a feel for handling of the aircraft, with the security of an experienced pilot with his hands on the controls. It is only after many hours of training with the instructor co-pilot, having gained proficiency that you will be allowed to fly your first solo flight, where you take off and land  on your own.

Many people read the Bible, some go to Bible school and become preachers, evangelist, church leaders. They have Bible knowledge but they don’t know Jesus and they don’t know about following Him. They have no understanding. They become the blind leaders of the blind, taking many to hell with them.

Jesus calls us to become disciples, who now Him, know His voice and follow Him. He teaches those who follow Him UNDERSTANDING, of Himself, His words and His ways. He teaches us to FEAR, RESPECT and OBEY Him, to know what it means to: ”Be still and know that I am God.” He “gives understanding to the simple” Psalm 119:130, those who are willing to TRUST Him and be taught by Him. Those who are self taught and educated seldom listen to Jesus, the Bible teachers and church leaders, and that is why they remain ignorant, they never get to KNOW and UNDERSTAND the ways of the Lord. They are arrogant, ignorant and proud, leaning on their own understanding, rather than humbling themselves before Jesus and learning from Him.

We need to be HUMBLE, TRUSTING and TEACHABLE, to be taught by the Lord, to know Him and gain divine understanding. Our heart must be set on Jesus and on doing His will, at all cost. We must seek His counsel, guidance and revelation, not that of men and women. Then we will be taught by Him and gain understanding of His will and of the kingdom of God.

Jesus gives us understanding, of all things, even of Himself, who He is. We read in 1 John 5:20

“And we know that the Son of God has come, and has given us understanding so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true, in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life.” Jesus Christ is the true God, but few recognize and honor Him as Lord and that is why most will perish.

Jesus is our Teacher. He did not appoint any other teachers . He will teach us and give us understanding, if we trust Him, listen to Him and stay with Him.
