WHAT IT MEANS TO ACCEPT JESUS

You often hear preachers say that you

have to accept Jesus Christ and believe in Him to have salvation.
However many people do not understand what it means to accept or
receive Jesus..

We read in John 1:9-13 speaking about
Jesus:“ 9There was the true Light which, coming into the
world, enlightens every man. 10He was in the world, and the
world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11He
came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive
Him. 12But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to
become children of God, even to those who believe in His
name, 13who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh
nor of the will of man, but of God.”

Jesus came for the lost children of
Israel, to save them from their sins, and even though they were
expecting their Messiah they did not recognize Him, nor accept Him.
They had Him crucified and therefor salvation was extended to ALL who
believe in Jesus and accept Him.

We read in John 3:16 "For God so
loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever
believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. “

When reading these verses as published
in the English language, in the many different versions of the Bible
that are available today, readers are led to believe that you only
need to believe in Jesus and confess to accept or receive Him to have
eternal life. That is why many falsely proclaim that salvation is a
free gift from God that you just have to be willing to accept, even
though you don't want it. The true meaning of those words, to accept
and receive Jesus are much deeper and more compelling, than that
presented in modern Bible versions. The New Testament books of the
the Bible were originally written in Greek because Greek was the
universally accepted language for communication and writing around
the Mediterranean at that time. The meaning of many scriptures were
changed by the translators and Bible publishers, and so the true
meaning of many scriptures were perverted or even lost, when the
different Bible versions were written. Many phrases in the King James
Version do not reflect the message presented in the original Greek
writings. The same happened in the case of the two scriptures that I
have just read. Today, with the internet it is possible for any
person to investigate the true meaning of the scriptures even though
they have no knowledge of the Greek language. Biblehub.com presents

research it.

John 1:12”But as many as received
Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God,” The true
meaning is: As many as have taken hold of Him, He gave the privilege
or capacity that would enable them to become children of God,

“even to those who believe in
His name, “ those who truly believed that He is the Light of
the world, God in the flesh.

“13who were born, not of blood nor of
the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.” They
would become born again, by the Spirit of God, to be children of
God.”

Accepting and receiving Jesus is not
passive faith in Him, but rather requires that we embrace and lay
hold of Him, go after Him and submit ourselves to Him and His
lordship.

We read in John 3:16 "For God so
loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever
believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. “ The
phase “believes in Him” has a much deeper meaning than that
conveyed by the popular English translation. It should rather be “who
is committed to Him.”

The gospel of Jesus Christ requires
commitment, obedience and dedication to Jesus, to obey and follow Him
until the end. It is not the shallow message of easy believerism and
acceptance of a free gift of salvation that is preached in the world
today.

Most believers do not know and
understand who Jesus really is and what He requires of those who
believe in Him and hope to have eternal life. The message of Jesus
Christ has been diluted and made powerless through inadequate Bible
translations and a false gospel being preached by people who do not
know Jesus, neither do they have the Holy Spirit, so that they would
be enlightened by the truth.

The apostle Paul wrote in Colossians,
who Jesus really is and described His mighty power.

Colossians 1:15 ”He is the image of the invisible God, the
firstborn of all creation. 16For by Him all things were
created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and
invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all
things have been created through Him and for Him. 17He is before
all things, and in Him all things hold together. 18He is also
head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn
from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in
everything. 19For it was the Father’s good pleasure
for all the fullness to dwell in Him, 20and through Him to
reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood
of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth
or things in heaven.


      21And although you were
formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil
deeds, 22yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body
through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless
and beyond reproach— 23if indeed you continue in the faith
firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of
the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation
under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister.”


The CONDITION for salvation ,Paul reiterates in verse 23”if
indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast,
and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard,
which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I,
Paul, was made a minister.”


The hope of eternal life hangs on accepting Jesus Christ,
embracing Him as Lord, following and obeying His words, His gospel,
until the end. There is only One Savior, and one gospel that can save
and that is the words of Jesus Christ as also recorded in the
gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Accept Him and obey His words
and you will live. Repent and be baptized. Seek Him with all your
heart and He will give His Holy Spirit in you to teach and guide you.
If you reject Jesus and His words you have no hope of eternal life,
you will perish,


Accept Jesus today and stay with Him until the end.

What it means to ACCEPT Jesus Christ

Most Christian believers have a total misconception of what it means to
ACCEPT Jesus Christ. We read in John 1:12 that all those who have
accepted Jesus Christ, or received Him, have the authority, or the power
to become sons of God, to become children of God. It just depends on
which version of the the Bible you read what you make yourself
understand from those words. But to accept Jesus Christ means to totally
submit yourself to Him as Lord and Master. If you believe that Jesus
Christ is indeed whom He said that He is, that He is the Son of God,
that He is God Almighty, that all power and all authority belongs to
Him, that His words are the words of eternal life, accepting Jesus
Christ means to ACCEPT Him in TOTAL, COMPLETELY, to accept His words,
His commands, to accept Him as your MASTER and your LORD, your KING,
your everything and to serve Him, to OBEY Him and to do as He commanded.
Many
people have been told that if they just accept the Lord Jesus Christ,
just believe in Him and say a simple prayer, say:"Lord Jesus I accept
You as my Lord and Master" then their name is written in the Book of
Life and they will have eternal life, they will go to heaven. THAT IS A
LIE! That is not what Jesus said.
If we believe in Him then we
accept Him as MASTER, we deny ourselves, turn away from sin, do not live
for ourselves any more but then we live for Jesus and the Kingdom of
God, we live our lives to please Him, for the rest of our life. He gave
His life to save us so if we want LIFE we have to lay down our lives for
Him, we have to live to please Him, live in obedience to Him, SERVE Him
as Lord and Master. If we have not done that, if we have not submitted
our own will, our own desires, our own plans, our own life to Jesus
Christ and if we are not living to please Him and doing what He
commanded and what He guides us into doing every day , if we do not
serve Him , then we have not accepted Him. Then we have no part in Him
and we do not have any hope of eternal life. If we do not know Him for
real and serve Him as our Lord and Master we are not children of God.
Then we have never become children of God. If we are not born again of
the Spirit of God and we have not become like Jesus then we are none of
Him.
Most Christian believers are totally deceived because they do not know Jesus Christ, they believe LIES.
Have
you found the truth? Have you found Jesus Christ and have you truly
ACCEPTED Him? Are you SERVING Him as your Lord and Master?

What it MEANS To ACCEPT Jesus Christ

We read in John 1:12 that all those who have RECEIVED Jesus Christ, all those who have ACCEPTED Him and who believe in His Name, have the power to become children of God. Many people confess that they have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior but they do not know what it means to ACCEPT Jesus Christ, to RECEIVE Him.

If we RECEIVE Jesus Christ we ACCEPT Him, we accept His words, we accept Him as our LORD and MASTER and we SUBMIT ourselves to Him, we DO what He commanded. If we disobey Him then we reject Him, then we have not accepted Him. Many people think that they are SAVED and that they have eternal life because they have repeated a SINNERS PRAYER after somebody else and said the words:”I accept Jesus Christ.” They never accepted Him, they just repeated the words like a parrot but nothing happened in their heart. They never accepted Jesus Christ as their KING, their MASTER, their RULER, they never submitted themselves to Him and His authority.

If we want eternal life we must ACCEPT and OBEY Jesus Christ, we must SERVE Him as LORD and MASTER. His words must be our COMMANDS, our RULE by which we live, by which we think, by which we breathe, by which we exist. If Jesus Christ is not our LIFE and our way of living then we never accepted Him, we do not belong to Him.

Have you truly accepted Jesus Christ? Do you OBEY Him? Have you turned away from sin? Have you turned away from your own ways, from your own desires, from your own ambitions, your own way of thinking and have you taken on Jesus Christ, accepted His words, His teachings? Have you been baptized in water? Have you received the Holy Spirit and are you led by the Holy Spirit? Have you truly accepted Jesus Christ? Is Jesus Christ the CENTER of your life? If not, you do not have Jesus and you do not have the HOPE of eternal life.

Most Christians never ACCEPT Jesus

Most Christians never accept Jesus Christ as LORD. They accept Him as SAVIOR, HEALER, PROVIDER, GIVER of all the good things but they do not accept Him as LORD and MASTER, as the FINAL AUTHORITY over every aspect of their lives.

They do not accept His words, the words that He spoke, His commandments as also recorded in the gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. They say it is IMPRACTICLE.

Many refuse to obey Jesus and be baptized in water after accepting Him.

Many REJECT the Holy Spirit that He sent to guide us into all truth. They rather prefer to stay with their Bible and choose scriptures that suit them but they will not accept the guidance of the Holy Spirit, they want to TEST the Holy Spirit against their own insight of THEIR own version of the Bible.

They WILL NOT serve or obey Jesus Christ, they call that a WORKS GOSPEL.

They will never KNOW Jesus Christ because they would never GO WITH Him and they will be eternally disappointed when they die and they stand before Him and Jesus says to them:”Go away I never knew you, you workers of wickedness.”

Have YOU accepted Jesus Christ as LORD, dear friend?

Be SERIOUS

Jesus Christ came into this world on SERIOUS BUSINESS. He came to save the world from sin, He came to save the lost, He came to DIE, He came to SUFFER. He came to GIVE HIS LIFE so that those who ACCEPT HIM can have life. But He was rejected, persecuted, slandered, they spat on Him, they tortured Him, they hung Him on a cross and they killed Him, for you and for me. The world did not accept Jesus, the world rejected Jesus.

They accepted what He gave to them. They accepted the healings, they accepted the bread and the fish when He fed the multitudes but THEY WOULD NOT GO WITH HIM. They would not stay with Him. THEY REJECTED HIM.

This world does not accept Jesus. Many so called Christians accept Jesus by their confession but they do not walk with Jesus. They are not associated with Jesus. They are associated with their church and their pastor and their Bible (KJV, NIV, NAS...) but not with Jesus. They will not follow after Jesus. If we are not willing to go after Jesus, follow and obey Him, be associated with Him, be rejected and persecuted because of Him and if we do not remain faithful to Him until the end then we will not spend eternity with Him, WE WILL NOT BE SAVED.

We cannot just accept the good things, want eternal life but reject Jesus. If we are not serious about our relationship with Jesus Christ He will also turn us away. If we deny Him He will certainly deny us. If we reject Him He will say to us:”Go away I never knew you, you worker of wickedness.” How serious are we about our relationship with Jesus? How SERIOUS are we about OBEYING Him and DOING what He commands?

Many believers will not obey Him and be baptized in water. Others will not accept the Holy Spirit which He sent to guide and teach us, they rather stick to their Bibles and reject Jesus, exactly like the pharisees did, they stuck to their Bibles (Torah) and they crucified Jesus Christ.

How SERIOUS ARE WE about our relationship with Jesus Christ? Will we FOLLOW and OBEY Him and endure with Him until the very end? May Jesus bless you.
