Living by the Holy Spirit Guidance

To be a child of God is not just a belief. It is a way of living. It means to be led by the Holy Spirit, to truly know Jesus Christ for real, to seek His guidance in all things, and to do what He tells us to do, in real life. Many believers want to fit Jesus Christ into their life, but if we follow Jesus then He is our life, and He directs our footsteps, He provides in all our needs, He guides us and He teaches us, but we have to trust Him and follow Him; and that is what most believers never do. They have a form of godliness, they have religion, but they do not have Jesus. They do not know Jesus, they do not follow Him. They follow their own mind and they want Jesus to do things for them, according to their plan.

The kingdom of God is about Jesus Christ, and if we want to enter His kingdom, we have to follow and obey Him. He put us where we are for His purpose, and we can only serve Him, and serve His purpose if we are truly led by the Holy Spirit. But if we follow our own mind and try to get Jesus to do for us and give to us, what we think, then our lives are about ourselves; then it's not about Jesus. Jesus has a plan and a purpose for each of us, and we have to ask Him, seek His guidance trust Him, wait on Him, believe when He speaks to us, and then obey. Very few people do that.

Since I have committed my life to Jesus He has directed my footsteps. Both my wife and me serve Jesus together, and He has very often given us direction, and very clear direction. I will share a few instances with you. Some years ago Jesus showed my wife that we were to buy a piece of land close to where we used to live. The street name that He gave her was a River road. When we came to the place that Jesus had shown her it was a new development that we did not even know about, and we picked out a stand that we bought on his command and later we found out that it was River road. We built a house on that stand and later Jesus told us to sell it and use the proceeds to do what He further wanted us to do.

Jesus has guided us step-by-step in many instances, many circumstances. When we had a family crisis we prayed, and Jesus gave us clear direction when.  When I had  crises at work, industrial problems, I would pray and Jesus would give me clear direction. He would give me a dream, or He would tell me what to do. There are hundreds of instances that I can share with you that Jesus told us to do things; told me to go and speak to a specific person. Jesus sent me to university to go and study when I had no desire to study, but I obeyed Him. Jesus sent me to the United States, I had no desire to go there, but it was all for His purpose. We cannot tell Jesus what He must do for us. It is about us doing His will, being useful for Him and for His kingdom. If Jesus Christ is not our life, then we are not following Him. If we still want to have our own life, do our own things, and it's about us.

Many people want to use Jesus for their own purpose, they want Jesus to give them talents to do certain things, to achieve certain things in life. They want Jesus to enable them to go to college, or to do certain things; but is that the will of God? Is that His plan? We can only be pleasing to Jesus if we seek His will, seek His guidance. You might want to marry a certain girl or boy; that might not be the person that God has in mind for you, but you want that person, that is your desire. We must submit ourselves to Jesus, get our focus on Him and He will guide us, He will teach us, He will supply in all our needs. He will enable us to do everything that He requires of us, and we will bear fruit for His kingdom, because without Jesus we can do nothing.

Jesus Christ is real. He's alive, He is God, you first need to be born again and know Jesus Christ for real before you can follow Him, but you have to be serious. If you are not serious about following Jesus, then He will not guide you, and if He speaks to you, you will doubt and then you will totally go into darkness, because we follow Jesus by faith not by our own desires, or our own opinion. He often tells us to do things that are opposed to what we thought. We must not lean on our own understanding, but totally trust in Jesus and seek to please Him. If we still seek to please ourselves and other people, if we are still worried about what others think of us, then we cannot be concerned about what Jesus thinks or whether He is pleased with us. We must absolutely and totally submit ourselves to Jesus, trust Him, ask His guidance, be serious, wait on Him and He will guide us, every step of the way. Will it be easy? No, because it's not rational; it's not like the rest of the world; it's not like the other people, because we are following and obeying the unseen God, but He manifests Himself in that which we can see and touch, in real life. If you do not follow and obey Jesus, if you do not trust Him with all your heart, you will never get to know Him. We have to fully trust, obey and follow Jesus, obey Him. He will reveal Himself to us if we seek Him with all our heart. Jesus Christ is real, He is God, He is alive. If we do not experience Him as real, it is because we do not really know Him.

May Jesus bless you.

The Christian LABEL worn by FAKES

Many people wear the
Christian label but they are not children of God. They call
themselves Christians, but they are fake because they are not
followers of Jesus Christ. It is not what you believe, what you
profess, that matters. It is what you are.
If you are not born again,
if you are not a child of God and if you do not obey Him, if you do
not follow Jesus Christ, then you are not a Christian, you are a
flake. Most professing Christians do not know Jesus Christ and they
will end up in hell, because they do not follow him. They do not obey
His words. They just wear the label. If you follow Jesus then you are
led by the Holy Spirit, you are born again, you obey His words; you
have repented because you believed in Him, you have been baptized in
water because you want to obey Him, and you have received the Holy
Spirit, because you sought after the Gift that He promised to those
who love Him, and who wish to follow Him; you are led by the Holy
Spirit everyday because you follow Jesus. If you do not follow and
obey Jesus Christ you are not a Christian, you are just deceived, you
are just wearing a label.
How real is your
relationship with Jesus Christ? Do you know Him? Do you hear His
voice? Do you follow Him? Do you obey Him, or do you just wear the
label?
May Jesus bless you.

NOT by FAITH ALONE

Many people believe a
false teaching that salvation is by faith alone. Salvation is not by
keeping the law of Moses, the works of the law, but salvation is by
obeying Jesus Christ.
We read in John 3:36 "he
who believes in the Son has eternal life, but he who does not OBEY
the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him."
If we believe in Jesus Christ, we must obey His words, the gospel of
Jesus Christ as recorded in the Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and
John. Repent and be baptized be filled with the Holy Spirit, and then
follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Faith without works is dead.
Salvation is not by keeping the Law (10 commandments).
Salvation is by obedience
to Jesus Christ. Do not be deceived, if you believe in Jesus you must
obey Him. Jesus said: "Why do you call Me Lord, Lord and do not
what I say." If we believe in Jesus then we must obey Him and do
as He commanded, or else we will perish.
May Jesus bless you.

How to be Born Again

You have to be born again to enter the kingdom of heaven, and there's only one person who can
make you knew, that can make you a child of God, and that is Jesus
Christ. But He will only do it if you truly desire to be born again.
If you truly want to be born again you have to decide, and make up
your mind whether you want to follow and obey Jesus Christ, whether
you want to live according to His commands. You must make up your
mind whether you are willing to deny yourself, to give up yourself,
to give up your own desires, to give up your sin, whether you are
willing to give up everything, to obey Jesus Christ.
If you are not determined
to live according to the words of Jesus, if you're not determined to
stop sinning, to turn away from sin, and from going after the lust of
the flesh, and the things of the world, then you're not serious. If
you're not serious, then you are wasting your time asking Jesus to
make you new, because Jesus will answer your prayer, and He will make
you new, if you are serious. If you pray and repent of your sin, from
your heart and you committed to never go back to that same sin again,
you committed to be holy and to obey the words of Jesus at all costs,
then He will answer your prayer. If you believe that Jesus is God,
that He is real, then He will answer your prayer, but if you're not
serious, you will not be born again. If you're not willing to obey
all the commands of Jesus, the words that He spoke, to repent, and be
baptized in water, and to receive the Holy Spirit, to listen to, and
obey the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Christ, living in you, and to be
led by the Spirit; if you're not willing and eager to follow and obey
Jesus, and go with Him all the way, then your prayer is fruitless,
you will not be born again.
If you are serious about
being born again, being a child of God, different from the rest of
the world, being like Jesus, and you pray, and you ask Him, He will
change you, He will make you new inside. He will forgive your past
sins, He will receive you with joy, He will give you peace, a peace
that passes all understanding, but if you are not serious, nothing
will happen; you will just go on the same as you were before and you
will end up in hell. If you want to be born again, you have to
believe that Jesus is God, that He is real. You have to believe His
words, and commit to obey Him, and follow Him, until the very end; to
turn away from sin, and sin no more, to be baptized in water, and to
seek His Holy Spirit, to dwell in you, to guide you, to seek His
voice, to listen to Him and follow Him, every day. If you are that
serious,
Jesus will make new, you
will become a child of God. But if those things are not present with
you, if you never stop sinning, if you were not baptized in water, if
you were not led by the Holy Spirit, then you were not born again.
Many people have been deceived; they have been told that if they just
believe, and say a prayer after somebody else, then they are born
again. If there's no fruit, there's no proof that you've changed,
that you are like Jesus Christ, and that you are living for the
kingdom of God, then you 're not born again. Are you born again? Has
Jesus changed you, and is that change outwardly visible, by all
people, that you are like Jesus Christ, you born again. Have you been
born again?
May Jesus bless you.

Stubborn Ignorant Christians

There is a lot of deception among Christians, a lot of false teaching, doctrines away from the truth. There is only one truth and that truth is Jesus Christ. If we are deceived it is by our own will that we are deceived. I will tell you, why.

We read in James 1:5 "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him."

Why do we not have wisdom if it is so easy to get wisdom by just asking the Lord Jesus in prayer? The reason is that we think that we are clever and it is especially the educated people that close out the true knowledge from the Holy Spirit. The Gospel of Jesus Christ is so easy that a child can understand it. Jesus said that the Kingdom of God belongs to children, little children. Why? They just accept it, but the clever adults are so indoctrinated and so opinionated that they will not even take any wisdom from God. They read all kinds of books, each others thoughts and their own interpretations; they are too wise to accept an answer from God.

We read in Luke 24:45 Jesus opened the mind of His disciples, He says "He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures."

Unless Christ Himself opens our mind we cannot understand the scriptures. The carnal mind cannot understand it and that is why we are in darkness. Because we try and figure things out with our minds and we are not dependent on Jesus Christ. We don’t go to the Lord in prayer and say: Lord teach me Your ways! That is why we are IGNORANT, why we will be JUDGED for our STUBBORN IGNORANCE.

If we ASK from the Lord Jesus we shall receive. The reason why people do not receive is because they are opinionated. If the Lord Jesus Himself tells you something and you something contrary to your understanding or insight of the Bible you refuse to accept it.

If we are more clever than Christ, He will not talk to us. If I filter everything that the Holy Spirit tells me, He will not speak to me. I think that I know better than Jesus, He will not speak to me, He will ignore me.

If I go to Christ and I ask for wisdom I must go with an open mind, trust in the Lord and then He will reveal Himself to me. If we regard our own insight, "discernment"  which is just prejudice, more than Christ, I idolize myself and I reject God.

The only true wisdom is  in Jesus Christ. We must trust in Him and not lean on out own understanding. We must ASK HIM to OPEN OUR MIND, then we will gain understanding.

It is written in Revelations 3:18 Jesus said: "I advise you to buy from Me gold refined by fire so that you may become rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself, and that the shame of your nakedness will not be revealed; and eye salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see."

Unless the Holy Spirit open our eyes we will not see we will be blinded. Blinded by our own ARROGANCE. And that is why it is closed it is locked up for the clever people of this world, for the wise people of this world and that is why God will confined the wise and those who are clever and opinionated. He will give it to children, He will open it up to those who TRUST HIM, who come to Him with a trusting heart and say: Lord I don’t know how it works?

We need to be reformatted. If we want to follow Jesus we must TRUST HIM WITH ALL OUR HEART and NOT LEAN ON OUR OWN
UNDERSTANDING. Not try and filter everything through our own carnal mind. We must ASK the LORD to OPEN our MINDS and then we will understand the scriptures and then we will understand many other things as well. If we don’t get into a TRUST RELATIONSHIP WITH JESUS CHRIST we shall never know the truth and we shall be JUDGE because of idolizing our own mind and our own insight our own stubbornness will JUDGE us.

When you Stop Trusting in God

When a nation and the
people trust in God it goes well with them, but when they stop
trusting in God, and when they defy God, things go bad with them.
I want to read for you
what happened to a king of Judah that stopped trusting in God. I read
from 2 Chronicles chapter 16. "In the 36th year of Asa's reign,
Baasha king of Israel came up against Judah and fortified Ramah in
order to prevent anyone from going out or coming in to Asa king of
Judah. Then Asa brought out silver and gold from the treasures of the
house of the Lord and the King's house and sent them to Ben-hadad
king of Aram, who lived in Damascus, saying. "Let there be a
treaty between you and me, as between my father and your father.
Behold, I have sent you silver and gold; go break your treaty with
Baasha king of Israel so that he will withdraw from me." So
Ben-hadad listened to King Asa and sent the commanders of his armies
against the cities of Israel, and they conquered by Ijon, Dan,
Abelmaƃm and all the stores cities of Naphtali. When Baasha
heard of it, he ceased fortifying Ramah and stopped his work. Then
King Asa brought all Judah, and they carried away the stones of Rama
and its timber with which Baasha had been building, and with them he
fortified Geba and Mispah. At that time Hanani the seer came to Asa
king of Judah and said to him, "Because you have relied on the
king of Aram and have not relied on the Lord your God, therefore the
army of the king of Aram has escaped out of your hand. Were not the
Ethiopians and Lubim an immense army with very many chariots and
horsemen? Yet because you relied on the Lord, He delivered them into
your hand. For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the
earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely
His. You have acted foolishly in this. Indeed from now on you will
surely have wars. Then Asa was angry with the seer and put him in
prison, for he was enraged at him for this. And Asa oppressed some of
the people at the same time." We further read in verse 12 , "In
the 39th year of his reign Asa became diseased in his feet. His
disease was severe, yet even in his disease he did
not seek the Lord but the
physicians."
And that is the mistake
that many people make. That is the mistake that a nation makes when
they stopped trusting in God. This is a statement of what used to be,
(Displaying a dollar bill) and what has been taken off the currency.
"IN GOD WE TRUST."
When we stop trusting in
God, God takes his hand of protection away from us, and we will
suffer. We will be afflicted. God protects those who trust in Him
but those who deny Him, He will certainly also deny. If we turn back
to God, if we obey Him, if we trust Him; He will protect us. But if
we scoff Him and mock Him, and trust in ourselves and make
allegiances with other nations, then God takes His hand away from us
and we will perish. The nation and the people that puts its trust in
God, will be exalted, but those who turn away from God will be
afflicted, will perish. Is your trust in God? Or do you trust in
yourself, and other people, in alliances with other people, in your
own abilities, and army; or do you trust in God. Trust in God and you
will never be defeated.
May Jesus bless you.

Without Jesus America Will Never Be Great

Without Jesus, America will never be great. If you trust in God, you have hope. But those who turn their back on God will perish.

Without Jesus, we can do nothing, but if you want to trust in Jesus, you have to obey Him; you have to turn away from your wicked ways. You must repent from your wrongdoing, you must repent from going after your own desires and you must obey Jesus Christ. Obey His words, or you will perish.

Repent of your evil ways. Repent of your sin, and be baptized in water. Seek Jesus Christ with all your heart and He will give His Spirit to come and dwell in you. He will guide you and He will teach you, and He will give you hope; He will make you prosper, if you follow and obey Him. But if you disregard Him, you will perish.

Without Jesus Christ, we can do nothing.

May Jesus bless you.

Real Faith Produces ACTION

Faith that does not
produce action is useless,it is dead. The Apostle James wrote that
just like the body without the Spirit is dead, even the same, faith
without works is dead. If we say that we believe that Jesus Christ is
Lord, then certainly we must obey Him. Jesus Christ commanded those
who believed in Him, to follow Him.
Those who did believed in
Him, did follow Him. They obeyed His words and they followed Him.
Those who did not believe, took no action. If you truly believe that
Jesus Christ is Lord, and that He will judge all mankind, if you
truly believe that Jesus Christ is God, you will fear Him. If you
believe that He is alive then you will want to know Him. But most
believers do not believe that Jesus Christ is God; they do not
believe that He is alive, they believe lies. They have been told that
they only need to believe in Jesus Christ for salvation, and then
they will have eternal life. They are foolish. Faith without works is
dead.
Jesus Christ said:"Why
do you call Me Lord, Lord and you do not want I say? If Jesus Christ
is Lord, then certainly we must obey Him in order to enter His
kingdom. If we disobey Him, we are not serious, and we will perish.
Jesus Christ commanded that each and everyone who believes in Him,
must obey His words, because His words are the words of eternal life
for those who obey Him. If you truly believe in Jesus Christ you will
go after Him. You will turn away from going after your own senseless
desires and ambitions. You will turn away from sin, you will go after
Jesus, you will obey Him, repent, stop sinning, be holy, and you will
be baptized in water for the washing off of your sin, like Jesus
Christ commanded. Jesus Christ promised His Holy Spirit will come and
dwell in each and every person who obeys His words, who repents and
who is baptized. The Spirit of Christ will come and dwell with them,
and He will guide them. He will teach them, they will get to know
Him. They will follow Him and they will serve Him. We cannot serve
Jesus Christ if we do not have the Holy Spirit. We cannot follow
Him, if we do not hear His voice, but we will not hear His voice, we
will not receive the Holy Spirit, if we do not obey Him and turn from
our own wicked ways, turn from our own senseless existence, and go
after Him. But if you do not believe in Jesus, you will do nothing.
You will, just like so many deceived believers, also believe that you
have salvation because you believe in Jesus Christ, and you will
quote Bible verses to prove it, but you don't know Jesus, you don't
know His voice, you have no relationship with Him. You are only
fooling yourself because faith without action is dead. Do you believe
in Jesus Christ?
Do you obey Him? Have you
repented, stopped sinning? Have you been baptized in water? Have you
received the baptism in the Holy Spirit and you hear His voice? Do
you follow Him? Do you go after Him? Do you bear fruit for the
kingdom of God, because you work for the kingdom of God, because you
are in Christ? Or are you dead in your sins, because your faith is
dead? It has not produced any action? Faith without works is dead. Is
your faith alive dear friend? Do you truly know Jesus Christ and are
you bearing fruit for the kingdom of God?
May Jesus bless you.

Do you BELIEVE?

Many Christians confess
their faith in Jesus but their faith is not real. They do not really
have faith. They believe that they have salvation because they say
that they believe in Jesus Christ, but faith without works is dead.
If our faith does not produce works of faith, things that we do in
obedience to God, because we believe in Him, then that faith cannot
save us, then that faith is worthless.
We read in Hebrews chapter
11 verse 6 "And without faith it is impossible to please God,
because anyone who approaches Him, must believe that He exists, and
that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him." Many people say
that they believe in Jesus, but do they really believe. Do you really
believe in Jesus? Do you believe that if you pray that He will answer
your prayer? Will you do what Jesus tells you to do if He speaks to
you? Is Jesus that real to you? Because if Jesus is not that real to
you then you do not really believe, then your faith is null, void and
empty.
We read in Hebrews chapter
11 verse 7:"By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet
seen, in godly fear built an ark to save his family. By faith he
condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that comes
by faith." When God spoke to Noah and warned him about the big
flood that would come, what did Noah do? He built an ark to save him
and his family. If God speaks to you and to me and tells us to build
an ark or to move away from where we are; will we do it? Will we
believe that God's spoke to us? Do we really know Him? Will we obey
Him? Why was Noah justified? Because he obeyed God. He believed what
God told him.
The same with Abraham. We
read in Hebrews chapter 11 verse 8:"By faith Abraham, when
called to go to a place he would later receive us his inheritance,
obeyed and went without knowing where he was going. By faith he
dwelled in the promised land as a stranger, in a foreign country. He
lived in tents as did Isaac and Jacob who were heirs with him of the
same promise; for he was looking forward to the city with foundations
whose architect and builder is God." God spoke to Abraham and
He told him to move to a distant country far away. He did not know
where he would arrive at, he did not know what it would be like when
he arrives there. Did he doubt God? No, he obeyed God, and that is
why God justified him, because his faith was real.
We also read in verse
11:"by faith Sarah even though she was barren and beyond the
opportune age was enabled to conceive a child, because she considered
Him faithful, who had promised, and so from one man, and he was as
good as dead, came descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky,
and as countless as the sand on the seashore." Sarah believed it
when the messenger of God came and said to her that she will have a
boy. She was barren and Abraham was an old man. Did they they doubt
Him? No, they did not. They believed in God. They believed that He
would do what He promised. He promised Abraham that his descendants
would be as many as the stars in heaven and as the sand by the
seaside. Abraham believed Him.
If God spoke to you and
me, would we believe Him? Would we leave everything that we have,
that we've worked for all our life, and go where Jesus sends us? Do
you really believe? Most people do not believe in Jesus. If they
believed in Jesus, they would obey Him. Do you really believe that
Jesus Christ is God? Do you really believe that He will judge all
men? Do you believe? So, if you believe, do you obey His words? Jesus
said:"Repent and be baptized." Most believers do not obey
the words of Jesus. They say:" I cannot stop sinning."
Jesus said:"If the Son of God has set you free, you will be
free, and free indeed." But they say:"I cannot stop
sinning." Do they really believe? Obviously they don't. Do they
believe that if they pray Jesus will answer their prayer and supply
in all their needs." If Jesus tells you today to quit your job,
leave everything that you've worked for all your life and go
somewhere else, that you do not know. Will you go? Will you obey Him?
How real is your faith?
"The righteous one
will live by faith and if he withdraws, says the Lord, My soul will
have no pleasure in him." We cannot follow Jesus Christ, if we
are not willing to live by faith, if we are not willing to leave
everything and go after Him. Many want to know:"If I follow
Jesus, must I stop watching TV?" "Will I have to give up
this, or that, or the other? What will happen to me? What kind of a
job will I have to do? Will I become homeless?" Do you really
believe? Do you believe that He's God Almighty, and that all things
belong to Him? Do you believe that He has prepared a place in heaven
for those who love Him, who follow Him, and who obey Him? Do you
really believe that? Or do you just believe that you have salvation
because you confess that you believe in Jesus? But you do not believe
because you will not obey Him. You are only fooling yourself, dear
friend, because you do not believe. Your faith has not produced any
works. The works that Jesus requires of us, is obedience. We have to
obey His words the, gospel of Jesus Christ, repent and be baptized,
and then He promised that He will give His Holy Spirit in us, to
guide us, to be with us, to teach us, but people don't want it. They
rather go after people, they believe in the preachers. They believe
in the Bible, their interpretation of the Bible. They don't believe
in Jesus Christ. The Pharisees believed in the Scriptures, the Torah,
and when the King of Glory, the Messiah came; did they believe that
He truly was the One that would come? No they did not. They crucified
Him.
Do you really believe that
Jesus Christ is Lord? Do do you believe He is alive? If you do, you
will take action. You will leave everything and you will go after
Him, but if you don't your faith is worthless. Because if you do not
go after Jesus, if you do not obey His words and do not repent and be
baptized, and do not receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, so that
Christ dwells in you and guides you, then you will never know Him.
You will never follow Him, and you know? Jesus will say to you:"Go
away I never knew you, you worker of wickedness." You were never
justified, because you never believed, you never put action to your
faith, you never went after Jesus Christ. Do you understand, dear
friend, what it means to be justified by faith? You have to go after
the One in whom you believe, because as it is written in Hebrews
chapter 11 verse 6: Without faith it is impossible to please God,
because the one who goes to Him, must believe that He is, and that He
is a rewarder, of those who seek Him and who go after Him.
Do you believe that? Do
you believe that Jesus Christ will reward you with eternal life, do
you believe that He has a place prepared in heaven, for those who
follow and who obey Him? If you really do believe, then go after Him,
because without Jesus there's no hope, there's no future.
Dear friend, do you
believe?
May Jesus bless you.

Neutralized and Eliminated by the Respect for Men

Many servants of God are
neutralized and eliminated through the fear of men, the respect of
men. If you speak the words of God then people will hate you, they
will reject, you they will persecute you. You will not be accepted by
people if you speak the words of God, and people will leave you. The
church members will disappear, the contributions and donations will
disappear. They will call your heretic and they will persecute you.
But if you do not speak
the words of God, if you compromise for the acceptance of men, you
will be neutralized, you will be eliminated. If you respect men more
than God then you cannot be a disciple of Jesus Christ, and you
cannot bear fruit for the kingdom of God. Many preachers have been
compromised, because they were offered a nice positions in churches,
provided that they speak the words of the church, that they do not
speak harshly, that they do not speak about sin, that they do not
speak the words that God gives them to speak. Many are afraid to speak
the truth because men will reject them.
Many have submitted
themselves to the leadership of the church, to the elders instead of
to Jesus Christ, and therefore they have become useless for the
kingdom of God. Many of those have been cut off because if they did not
bear fruit for the kingdom of God. We will get cut off. The respect
for men is a snare, that has destroyed and eliminated many. I want to
read for you what happened to a young prophet who respected the old
prophet and rather than doing what God told him to do, he listened to
the old prophet and he was cut off; he was killed.
I read from 1Kings 13. God
sent this young prophet to go and speak judgment against an evil king
of Israel, Jeroboam. I read from verse 1: Now behold there came a
man of God from Judah to Bethel by the word of the Lord. While
Jeroboam was standing by the altar to burn incense, he cried against
the altar by the word of the Lord and said: "Oh altar, thus says
the Lord Behold a son shall be born to the house of David, Josiah by
name; and on you he shall sacrifice the priests of the high places
who burn incense on you, and human bones shall be burned on you."
Then he gave a sign the same day saying:" This is the sign
which the Lord has spoken, Behold the altar shall be split apart and
the ashes which are on it shall be poured out. Now when the King
heard the saying of the man of God, which he cried against the altar
in Bethel, Jeroboam stretched out his hand from the altar saying:
"Seize him!" But his hand which he stretched out against
him dried up so that he could not draw it back to himself. The altar
was also split apart and the ashes were poured out from the altar,
according to the sign which the man of God had given by the word of
the Lord. The king said to the man of God:"Please entreat the
Lord your God and pray for me that my hand may be restored to me."
So the man of God entreated the Lord and the Kings hand was restored
to him, and it became as it was before. Then the king said to the man
of God:"Come home with me and refresh yourself and I will give
you a reward." But the man of God said to the king" "If
you were to give me half your house, I would not go with you, nor
will I eat bread or drink water in this place, for so it was
commanded me by the word of the Lord saying:"You shall not eat
bread, nor drink water, nor return by the way which you came. So he
went another way and did not return by the way which he came to
Bethel.
He obeyed the Word of God
against the king, but see what happened then. Another prophet, a man
of God, came to him and seduced him.
I read from verse 11. "Now
an old prophet was living in Bethel and his sons came and told him
all the deeds which the man of God had done that day and of the words
which he had spoken to the king, these also they related to their
father. Their father said to them:"Which way and did he go?"
Now his sons had seen the way in which the man of God who came from
Judah had gone. Then he said to the sons: "Saddle the donkey for
me." So they saddled the donkey for him and he rode away on it.
So he went after the man of God and found him sitting under an oak.
And he said to him:"Are you the man of God that came from
Judah:" and he said:"I am." Then he said to him:"Come
home with me and eat bread." He said:"I cannot to return
with you, nor go with you, nor will I eat bread or drink water with
you in this place, for a command came to me by the word of the
Lord:"You shall eat no bread, nor drink water there. Do not
return by going the way which you came." He said to him:"I'm
also a prophet like you, and an angel spoke to me by the word of the
Lord saying: "Bring him back with you to your house, that he may
eat bread and drink water," but he lied to him.
So he went back with him
and ate bread in his house, and drank water. Now it came about, as
they were sitting down at the table that the word of the Lord came to
the prophet who had brought him back, and he cried to the man of God
who came from Judah saying:"This is the Lord:"Because you
have disobeyed the command of the Lord, and have not observed the
Commandant with the Lord your God commanded you, but have returned
and eaten bread and drunk water in the place of which He said to
you:"Eat no bread, and drink no water, your body shall not come
to the grave of your father's." It came about after he had eaten
bread and after he had drunk and he saddled the donkey for him, for
the prophet whom he had brought back. Now when he had gone a lion met
him on the way and killed him, and his body was thrown on the road,
with the donkey standing beside it. The lion also was standing beside
the body and behold men passed by and saw the body thrown on the road
and the lion standing beside the body. So they came and told it in
the city where the old prophet lived. Now when the prophet who
brought him back from the way heard, he said it is a man of God who
disobeyed the command of the Lord, therefore the Lord has given him
to the lion, which has torn him and killed him, according to the word
of the Lord which he had spoken, which he spoke to him, and he spoke
to his sons saying:"Saddle the donkey for me." And they
saddled it. He went and found his body thrown on the road, with the
donkey and the lion standing beside the body. The lion had not eaten
the body, not torn the donkey. So the prophet took up the body of the
man of God, and laid it on the donkey and brought it back, and he
came to the city of the old prophet to mourn and to bury. He laid his
body in his own grave and they mourned over him saying: "Alas my
brother."
This young prophet
listened to the old prophet instead of listening to God. We have one
Leader, we have one Lord and Master. If we follow Jesus Christ we
must listen to Him and obey Him. We are called to serve Him only, and
not be distracted by people. Many servants of God have been
neutralized, eliminated and killed by God because they submitted
themselves to men, they did not keep on listening to and serving the
Lord. The respect of men is a snare that has, and will destroy many.
Follow Jesus Christ and obey Him, then you will bear fruit; but if
you start respecting men you are not suitable to be a servant of God,
you are not suitable for the kingdom of God. You will get cut off and
burned.
May Jesus bless you.
