The Gospel of Jesus is about GIVING

God gave LIFE to the world,  by

giving Jesus  Christ.  We read in John 3:16 “For God so
loved the world, that He GAVE His only begotten Son, that whoever
believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." God
SACRIFICED His Son.
Jesus willingly sacrificed Himself, gave up
His life, to save the world. If we wish to follow Jesus and have
eternal life, then we have to sacrifice ourselves, our own
desires, ambitions, plans, even our life and follow Him. We read in
Romans 12:1,2. "Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies
of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice,
acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2And
do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing
of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that
which is good and acceptable and perfect."

We read in 1
Peter 4:1 "Therefore, since Christ has suffered in the flesh,
arm yourselves also with the same purpose, because he who has
suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, 2so as to live the rest of
the time in the flesh no longer for the lusts of men, but for the
will of God. 3For the time already past is sufficient for you to have
carried out the desire of the Gentiles, having pursued a course of
sensuality, lusts, drunkenness, carousing, drinking parties and
abominable idolatries. 4In all this, they are surprised that you do
not run with them into the same excesses of dissipation, and they
malign you; 5but they will give account to Him who is ready to judge
the living and the dead. 6For the gospel has for this purpose been
preached even to those who are dead, that though they are judged in
the flesh as men, they may live in the spirit according to the will
of God."
Jesus said: “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he
must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. 25“For
whoever wishes to save his life will lose it; but whoever loses his
life for My sake will find it. 26“For what will it profit a man if
he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what will a man
give in exchange for his soul? 27“For the Son of Man is going to
come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and WILL THEN REPAY
EVERY MAN ACCORDING TO HIS DEEDS." Matthew 16:24-27.
That is
the cost of eternal life, the price that we have to pay to have
salvation. Just believing in Jesus will not save us if we do not
sacrifice our will, obey Jesus and follow Him until the end.

Sacrifice your WILL

If you want to follow Jesus and have eternal life you have to SACRIFICE YOUR WILL to Jesus Christ, your own desires, your own pleasures, your own ambitions, you have to give it all up and submit yourself to Jesus Christ and DO what He tells you to do. You have to live in obedience to Him.

Jesus said:”Whoever WISHES to come after me must DENY HIMSELF, pick up his cross every day and come here follow Me.” You DENY YOURSELF, you don't go where you want to do, you don't DO what you want to do, you SUBMIT yourself to Jesus. You deny yourself your own pleasures, your own desires, your own ambitions and you go after Jesus Christ, you DO what He tells you to do. You become a servant, a slave, to the Kingdom of God. Jesus said:”Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all the other things will be added unto you.” Do not worry about the things of the world. Do not worry about what you will eat, what you will drink, where and how you will live, go after Jesus Christ and He will guide you. He will tell you which job to do. It might not be the job of your choice, He might put you into a job that will utterly humble you but because you follow Jesus you DO what He tells you to do, because you have accepted Him as your MASTER.

If we are not willing to sacrifice our will, to DENY OURSELVES and to utterly submit to Jesus, He cannot be our LORD, He cannot be our MASTER and if we reject Him, if we disregard Him then He will also disregard us, He will REJECT us! He will say to us:”Go away I never knew you, you worker of wickedness, go away, you would never follow Me, you would not go with Me.” If we are not willing to submit to Jesus right now in this life and follow Him until the very end then we will have no business with Him when we come to the end of this life because then our life will END.

Are we willing to submit to Jesus and LIVE? Do we truly want eternal life? Do we want Jesus Christ?

FOR FREE

Many people who call themselves Christians are CHEAP when it comes to the Kingdom of God, and they will quote you scripture. They will say:”Freely you have received, freely give,” but they don't want to FREELY GIVE. They want everything for free, even salvation. Salvation COST the highest price, Jesus Christ paid the highest price for our salvation and if we want salvation we will also pay the highest price. It might cost you EVERYTHING, it might cost you your life.

If we are not willing to give up EVERYTHING for Jesus, we are not worthy of Him. If we are CHEAP we are not suitable for the Kingdom of God. If we do not give our BEST SACRIFICE for the Kingdom of God we are not worthy of Jesus Christ. Most Christians pay out a lot of money for their cellphone, their movies, their cable connection (TV), their pleasures, their holidays but when it comes to the Kingdom of God they are stingy. They want to know: WHAT WILL IT COST THEM? WHAT WILL THEY HAVE TO GIVE UP to follow Jesus Christ? You will have to give up everything because if you do not give it up you will lose it in any case AND you will LOSE YOUR LIFE FOR ETERNITY!

If you follow Jesus you have to give up everything to receive everything because eternal life is everything. Jesus Christ is LIFE and He is EVERYTHING, but you WILL PAY THE PRICE.

Are you willing to give up everything for Jesus and eternal life or do you want it FOR FREE?

Will you serve?

All those who have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Master have the POTENTIAL to become children of God and to become part of the Kingdom of God. They have the POTENTIAL to become heirs of the Kingdom of God but very few people are interested in Jesus Christ, in serving Him and in the Kingdom of God.

Most people go after their own affairs, they seek their own advancement. Jesus said that if we wish to follow Him and become part of His Kingdom then we need to deny ourselves, pick up our cross every day and follow Him. We need to ABANDON our own desires, our own ambitions and the Kingdom of God needs to become our ambition. We need to seek to advance the Kingdom of God. If you are not born again you cannot SEE the Kingdom of God, you cannot UNDERSTAND IT. You first need to be born again of the Spirit of God and of water (baptism) and then you can SEE the Kingdom of God, it becomes real to you. Jesus said:”Seek ye first the ADVANCEMENT OF THE Kingdom of God and His RIGHTEOUSNESS and then all the other things will be added unto you, you will become and heir of the Kingdom of God. Jesus calls us to SERVE the Kingdom of God but very few people are interested in serving, they want to serve themselves, their own lusts, their own desires, their own ambitions. If we do not take ownership, possession, interest in the Kingdom of God, then we will not have an inheritance!

Believers want eternal life, they don't want to go to hell but they don't want Jesus ether, neither are they interested in the Kingdom of God. They don't want to SERVE, they call it a WORKS GOSPEL. They don't want to work for the Kingdom of God. They don't seek the ADVANCEMENT of the Kingdom of God. They are not seeking the RIGHTEOUSNESS of God, His STANDARD and therefor they do not become part of the Kingdom of God. We cannot serve and advance the Kingdom of God if we are not led by the Holy Spirit. We cannot work ON the Kingdom and FOR the Kingdom unless we serve the King, Jesus Christ. We need to KNOW Him, LOVE Him, FOLLOW Him and OBEY Him every day and DO what He tells us to do, GO where He sends us. Whatever the cost, we have to INVEST ourselves, sacrifice our own desires for the benefit of the Kingdom of God.

We must WILLINGLY serve Jesus. Jesus will MIGHTILY use those who make themselves available, who come and sit at His feet and WAIT on Him and say:”Lord, please use me as YOU please. YOU are my KING and my MASTER and I want to serve YOUR Kingdom.”

Few will serve, few will inherit that kingdom. Are you willing to SERVE the Kingdom of God? If you are not willing you will have no part in it! You wont have eternal life, you will not have Jesus! ARE YOU WILLING TO SERVE?

Join the struggle

To follow Jesus Christ is a struggle every day and if you do follow Jesus you WILL feel the pain. Jesus said that we must deny ourselves, pick up our cross and follow Him every day. He also warned his disciples that they will be hated by all men. If you follow Jesus Christ this world will hate you and reject you.
Jesus said that we must take His yoke on us because his burden is light and His commandments are easy. That is when you FOLLOW Jesus and STAY with Him, then He will help you to overcome. He will help you to bear the load, but you will be tried, you will be tested and only those who endure until the end will have the prize of eternal life.
If you follow Jesus you have to sacrifice yourself unto the Lord. Therefor Paul writes in Romans 12:1 He says:“I beseech you brethren that you present your bodies as a living and a holy sacrifice, acceptable unto the Lord. That is your reasonable service.” That is what the Lord requires of us if we want eternal life. We need to sacrifice ourselves and present ourselves unto the Lord for HIS purpose to do HIS will. Only those who STAY with Jesus until the end and who overcome evil, themselves, the flesh and who OBEY Jesus Christ, only they will have the prize of eternal life.
It is a struggle until the very end. You have to overcome to win the prize. Stay focused on Jesus or else you will not be able to make it.

Filthy Works

Many believers think that they can buy God's favor by their works, by their Bible study, their church attendance, their support to their favorite charity, the money that they give to the church, supporting the church bazaar, going to the fellowship meetings. They think that it pleases God that they attend Christian fellowship and that they do praise and worship and dancing in the church, participating in the church activities. Those are FILTHY WORKS.
God is not interested in those works. God is interested in one thing only and that is in OBEDIENCE and RIGHTEOUSNESS. Jesus said:”If you love Me OBEY MY WORDS” Jesus wants OBEDIENCE not sacrifice. He does not want your money nor the things that YOU want to GIVE to Him, the sacrifices YOU want to make. What is important to Jesus is that we OBEY HIM and give to Him the HONOR and the RESPECT and the OBEDIENCE that is due to Him, that we SERVE Him as LORD and MASTER. Our filthy works cannot buy the favor of God. God wants OBEDIENCE.

Are we serving God with REVERENCE and FEAR? Do we OBEY the words of Jesus. That is what is pleasing to God. May Jesus bless you.
