Many people are in the rat race,
running after achievement and money, they are concerned about what
other people think of them. I recently attended a function to the
honor of a person who retired. The whole night was about this person,
all his achievements, how good he was, and all the things that he
still wants to achieve in life but there was nothing about Jesus
Christ. If we gain the whole world and we lose our soul, what will it
profit us in the end?
Jesus said:”Do not work for bread
that perishes but world for bread that will last for eternity,” the
kingdom of God and then He will add all the other things to us. Most
people run after things that do not matter. They enjoy the praises of
other people and they seek the acceptance of this world but they do
not care for the acceptance of God. All the praises must go to Jesus.
Without Jesus Christ we can do nothing, without his acceptance and
approval we have no hope, no future.
We need to seek the approval of Jesus
Christ. It doesn't matter what other people think of us. All that
matters is to be pleasing to Jesus. He will say to many people that
day that they die:”Go away I never knew you, you workers of
wickedness.” Most people have no business with Jesus, they don't
care for Him but the day that they die they will find out that they
have no place with Him. If we do not care for Jesus now, why would He
accept us to be with Him for eternity?
What matters to us? What do we wish to
gain by the things that we do? Are we seeking riches, acceptance of
people, or do we care for the approval of God? To be approved and
accepted by Jesus Christ is the only true gain that will matter for
eternity.
May Jesus bless you.
