Be Content

The world is being
destroyed through lust. Lust is the cause of sin. Lust is never
satisfied because the more you give it the more at wants and it
drives you until it consumes you. Many people have unrealistic
expectations. They are entitled. They believe that they deserve
certain things. We cannot always win. We cannot always be happy. We
cannot always have everything that we want.
There are certain things
that we cannot change, and if you try to change those things you will
be destroyed. You cannot change the color of your skin, you cannot
change your gender. You are either born a man or a woman. If you
tamper with those things and if you try and change it you destroy
yourself.
People do not want to
believe the truth. They believe lies, they believe that they are
entitled, that they can have everything that they want, that they can
change themselves to be what they think that they want to be. When
people cannot have their desires they become depressed and anxious.
They fight, they steal, they sin.
This is nothing new. The
Apostle James wrote about it in James 4:1 He said:"What is the
source of quarrels and conflicts among you. Is it not the source of
your pleasures that wage war in your members? You lust and do not
have; so you commit murder. You are envious and cannot obtain; so you
fight and quarrel. You do not have because you do not ask. You ask
and you do not receive because you ask with wrong motives, so that
you may spend it on your pleasures. You adulteresses, do you not know
that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore
whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of
God. Or do you think that the scripture speaks to no purpose:"He
jealously desires the Spirit which God has made did well in us"?
But He gives a greater grace. Therefore it says:"God is opposed
to the proud but gives grace to the humble." Submit therefore to
God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and
He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and
purify your hearts, you double-minded. Be miserable and mourn and
weep; let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy to
gloom. Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will
exalt you." We need to learn to be content with what we have,
that which God has given us. Some things we cannot change and we must
accept those things. We must be content.
The writer of Hebrews
wrote in Hebrews13:5 "Make sure that your character is free from
the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself
has said:"I will never desert you nor will I ever forsake you."
We need to learn to be content. Our contentment must be in Jesus, in
our trust in Him. Jesus said that we must not seek for the things of
the world because He knows what we need and if we go after Him, if we
seek to please in Him, He will supply in all our needs; He will give
us whatever we require. Jesus said: "Seek first the kingdom of
God and His righteousness and all the other things will be added unto
you." We need to learn to be content. If we are driven by lust
and unrealistic expectations we will be destroyed; we will be
consumed by our own desires. We need to put our trust in Jesus and be
content with whatever He gives to us, because He loves us He cares
for us, and he will give us whatever we need. He will give us the
very best, if we just seek to please Him.
May Jesus bless you.
