Repent be Baptized and THEN?

Salvation starts and ends
with Jesus Christ, firstly believing in Him and then obeying Him.
Jesus Christ commanded His disciples, as we read in Matthew 28:19, He
said:"Go into all the world and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy
Ghost and teaching them to obey all that I commanded you."
Many people have been
taught that if they believe in Jesus and they are baptized in water
that they are saved, but it is only after we have repented and been
baptized in water that our true walk with Jesus starts, because Jesus
commanded His disciples to make disciples and baptize them, and then
to teach them to obey everything that Jesus commanded them. The
commands and words of Jesus are recorded in the gospels, Matthew,
Mark, Luke and John. Those are the words of eternal life. Those are
the commands that we need to follow and obey in order to be pleasing
to Jesus.
Most believers think that
once they are baptized they are saved and then they sit back and they
wait for the rapture, or the wait to die, and go to heaven. The
kingdom of God is not about waiting, it is about following and
obeying Jesus Christ. It is about obeying His commands, living
according to His words. Go and read the gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke
and John and apply those words. Obey them, live by them, live your
life to please Jesus, seek Jesus Himself and He will reveal Himself
to you. If you obey His words He promised His Holy Spirit to come and
dwell in us, to guide us and to teach us. Jesus did not command His
disciples to build churches. He commanded them to make disciples,
people who know and follow Jesus Christ, people who are filled with
the Holy Spirit, who are led by the Holy Spirit.
After the Apostle Paul met
Jesus on the Damascus Road he was baptized in water and then he was
filled with the Holy Spirit and after that he went to Arabia for
three years, where Jesus Christ revealed Himself to him and taught
him the gospel. Paul learned from Jesus as each of us must learn from
Jesus. Each of us must become a disciple of Jesus, not a disciple of
the disciples, not a follower of Paul or of any of the other
apostles. We must be followers of Jesus, who obey His words and who
are led by His Spirit, not by other people and various teachings.
We need to obey the words
of Jesus, receive the Holy Spirit, and be led by the Holy Spirit, as
Paul also wrote in Romans 8:14 "Those who are being led by the
Spirit of God, they are the children of God." We need to be
disciples, who follow Jesus. We need to be children of God, sons of
God who are led by the Spirit of God. If we do not have the Spirit of
Christ and if we are not led by the Spirit of Christ, the Holy
Spirit, then we do not belong to Him and we cannot serve Him.
Once you are baptized your
walk and your work only starts. You have to obey the words of Jesus,
you have to seek Him and seek the infilling with a Holy Spirit so
that you can be led by the Holy Spirit. Nobody is saved yet, we have
to endure with Jesus, follow Him and obey Him, serve Him until the
very end, and those who endure with Him until the very end, will be
saved. That is what Jesus commanded His disciples to do. He said
those who endure until the end will be saved. We have to follow Jesus
after we have repented and been baptized. We have to serve Him as
disciples and endure with Him until the very end to enter the kingdom
of heaven. That is the full gospel of Jesus Christ; repent and be
baptized, live according to His commands, be filled with the Holy
Spirit and be led by the Holy Spirit of Christ dwelling in you.
May Jesus bless you.
