Hungry for God

In this world there are two types of people, the sons of the  devil and the sons of God. The children of the devil are obvious because they love the pleasures of sin and they love to please themselves but the children of God are HUNGRY FOR GOD, they seek to be pleasing to Jesus. Many call themselves Christians but they are children of the devil because they love the pleasures of sin.

The Apostle Paul wrote in 2 Timothy 3:”1But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. 2For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control,”(PEOPLE WHO SAY THEY CANNOT STOP SINNING) “brutal, haters of good, 4treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, 5holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; Avoid such men as these.” Among those who call themselves Christians many are like this, they are sons of the devil.
Those who are children of God SEEK the things of God. They are HUNGRY for the things of God. Paul wrote about them in Titus 2:11 “For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to all men, 12instructing us to deny ungodliness and worldly desires and to live sensibly, righteously and godly in the present age, 13looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus, 14who gave Himself for us to redeem us from every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a people for His own possession, ZEALOUS FOR GOOD DEEDS.” People who are zealous for GOOD WORKS, for DOING that which is pleasing to God. They are HUNGRY to DO the things that God wants them to do, they constantly SEEK the will of God.
Which one of these two types of people do we belong to? Are we seeking our own pleasure or are we HUNGRY FOR GOD? Are we sons of the devil or children of the kingdom of God?
