The road to LIFE, eternal life, is a
road of SELF SACRIFICE. It is the road of following Jesus. Jesus came
to do the will of His Father. He said: ”I have come to do Thy will
Oh God.” And if we follow Jesus we do not seek to realize
ourselves, to achieve our own ambitions.
We will have to SACRIFICE ourselves,
our own comforts, our own plans, our own desires in order to follow
Jesus Christ, as he also taught us to pray:”Our Father who art in
heaven, hallowed be Thy Name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on
earth as it is in heaven.” Can you pray that prayer MEANING IT?
“THY WILL BE DONE” not my will but THY WILL. Wherever Jesus
guides me, whatever Jesus expects of me, that I WILL DO, because I
follow Him. Are you willing to sacrifice yourself in order to follow
Jesus Christ?
If we are not willing to WILLINGLY,
GLADLY sacrifice and give up everything in order to do the will of
God then we cannot follow Jesus Christ. It is not a road of
self-realization and pleasure, it is a road of sacrifice if we want
to have eternal life because we will have to give up everything in
order to follow Jesus Christ and have the prize of eternal life, the
kingdom of God.
Are you willing to give it all up and
follow Jesus Christ?
